Untreated mental illness is the most underrated health and social epidemic worldwide—and the numbers prove it. One in five adults will face a mental illness this year. Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among youth ages 10-24. Nearly 60% of mental illness goes untreated.

The solution? Early intervention—because the best way to solve a problem is to prevent it from happening. That’s what we’re supporting with every stride. Lace up, because people’s lives depend on it.

ONE IN FIVE MARATHON RELAY:
At the relay, teams of five will complete a full marathon. The first four runners will each complete a 5-mile loop, and the last will represent the one in five by taking on a more challenging 6.2-mile route.

ONE IN FIVE VIRTUAL 5K:
On June 8th, 2018, runners will converge in Grand Rapids, Michigan for our main event—but you can run your own route, in your own area, on your own time. From twilight June 8th to twilight on June 9th, clock your 3.2 miles (with an app like MapMyRun, RunKeeper, Nike+ Running, etc.), then send us your time by 11:59pm on June 9th, 2018. COMMUNITY WALK:
The simple act of walking can end the stigma, change our community, and save lives. We invite your friends and family to join us for the Community Walk as we take steps toward that reality.

6.2-MILE INDIVIDUAL RACE:
Support the cause by running as an individual on this year’s 6.2-mile course.

6.2-MILE ACCESSIBILITY RACE:
This event has been designed for athletes who use a wheelchair or handcycle to compete individually on this year’s 6.2-mile course.
